What is a passkey?
With a passkey you log in without a password and without a code by e-mail. Your phone, tablet or computer keeps a digital key for this website. Logging in then works the way you unlock your device: with your face, your fingerprint or your PIN.
- Safe. Nobody can guess it, and it only works on this website. A fake e-mail or website cannot trick you out of it.
- Private. Your face or fingerprint never leaves your device. We only keep a key that says nothing about you.
- On your other devices. On an iPhone, iPad or Mac, iCloud Keychain keeps your passkey, so it also works on your other Apple devices. On Android and in Chrome, Google Password Manager does the same. On another device you log in once with a code and add a passkey there.
- Always a way back. A new device, or is it not working for a moment? Then simply log in with a code by e-mail, as always.
- How to make one. Log in with your code and then choose "Yes, make a passkey", or go to My details and choose "Add a passkey". Your device then asks for your face, fingerprint or PIN. That is all.
